Covid-19 marked a pause in Franco-Chinese cooperation. Since 2023 and the easing of sanitary measures, CNRS has relaunched its cooperation with China and developed new projects together.

As part of the recent creation of the virtual institute on biodiversity between the CNRS and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, CNRS Écologie et Environnement is pleased to organise a Franco-Chinese symposium (CAS-CNRS) on ‘Biodiversity, Global change and EcoHealth’ at the CNRS Gérard Mégie campus on 14 and 15 November 2024. This event will be an opportunity to discuss the results of existing scientific collaborations between CAS and CNRS on environmental issues and to build the prospects of the new CNRS-CAS virtual institute on biodiversity.

This event is part of the international agenda and follows on from the results of COP 15 on biodiversity, held in Montreal in December 2022, and COP 16, which takes place in Cali in October 2024.

The event is endorsed by the Académie des Sciences.
